NASCAR Racing - Where Pop Culture Meets Rubber Everywhere

Sport

NASCAR Racing is a fascinating pop culture phenomenon that gained a lot of popularity in the 1960s through today. There are a lot of Hollywood stars that have been drawn into the NASCAR frenzy as well. I'm sure the fun, the fury, and the speed of the NASCAR experience can draw on anyone. Some of NASCAR's drivers have even appeared in some of Hollywood's ventures. The NASCAR drivers I'm talking about are Jeff Gordon, Jamie McMurray, and Dale Earnhardt., Jr. If you see a movie series like the Fast and the Furious, you can see that fast cars and daring drivers have become increasingly popular.

NASCAR Racing is divided into several "Cup Series" racing competitions. Its popularity in pop culture only lends to making the Cup Series' more popular. Thirty six races per year form up the Sprint Cup, which is the top series of racing in North America. The "Nationwide Series" is another race series that goes along with the cup shows. The series features all kinds of drivers from new talent to the old pros. Finally, NASCAR also has the Craftsman truck series, which uses full size pickup trucks with 25 races in a year.

NASCAR Schools

Sport

Interested in becoming a NASCAR specialist? Most people probably don't realize that there are trade schools that offer NASCAR training! While most curriculums at NASCAR schools will encompass automotive technology, trade-specific courses are geared toward NASCAR's motor sports.

Courses at NASCAR schools include a broad variety of hands-on instruction in aerodynamics, body and chassis fabrication, auto body repair, drive trains, engine construction, mechanical engineering, racing theories, rubber/tire technology, electronic systems technology, and fuel and lubrication systems. In many cases, classes in NASCAR schools will involve manufacture-specific skills on various automobiles such as Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, and others.
